I felt righteous indignation when a non-Nigerian friend made the above comment. Perhaps “indignation” is too blunt a term, better - I went on the defensive. You see, I too love gadgets, but recently I have had cause to revise my reaction to my friend’s assessment. His view then was that seeing as we have mainly come from the Third World, poverty and underdevelopment, the advent of technology and the ease with which they reach us put us in a mad rush to acquire them, much to the exclusive of other things that matter more.

If you’re reading this and you’re surprised, you must know that I’m in big trouble. Forget all that talk of Version 2.0. It’s big ‘grammer’ to disguise that I’m up sh*t creek without an oar!Something happened to my blog and I’m presently in the rubbish bin trying to dig out the dregs. I did make a backup though but quite another thing it is to restore it.

[update] After trying in vain to restore the site, I am left with no choice but to re-post all old stuff. I don’t imagine myself ever feeling ‘creative’ so instead of building up this blog from scratch, I will do just that: re-post.

Yes really, I think that in many ways I am a coward. Sure on the surface there’s a lot of bravado, calmness in the face of a storm and all that, but deep down, I’m not really a fighter.
